No Guarantee of Regulatory Compliance or Certification
Our consulting services are designed to help your facility align with recognized food safety standards and applicable regulations. However, our services, including a favorable result in a mock audit, gap assessment, or readiness review conducted by us, do not guarantee:
- A passing score or certification in an official third-party or GFSI audit (e.g., SQF, BRCGS).
- A favorable outcome in government inspections, including those conducted by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), or the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
On-Site and Remote Services
Please note that food safety consulting has practical limitations that depend on how services are delivered:
On-Site Assessments
Facility walkthroughs and employee observations provide a snapshot of operational conditions at a single point in time. They cannot ensure ongoing compliance and may not reveal hidden structural or environmental defects.
Remote Assessments
Document reviews and video-assisted assessments rely on the accuracy and completeness of the information provided by the client. They also lack the physical context of an on-site visit, such as ambient temperature, odors, or hands-on verification.
Regulatory Frameworks & Limitation of Liability
Our services address complex regulatory frameworks, including the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR) in Canada and, in the United States, the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) requirements. Regulations change frequently and interpretations can vary by jurisdiction, so clients should confirm current requirements with the relevant regulatory authority.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Food Safety Simplified will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from the use of this website or our services, including regulatory citations, administrative monetary penalties, product recalls, facility closures, or foodborne illness outbreaks. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the fees paid for the specific services giving rise to the claim. The terms of each engagement, including any limitation of liability, are set out in the client's written service agreement.
